E-ticket booking facility for accredited Journalists on Concessional Passes Launched

As announced in Railway Budget 2016-17, Indian Railways has launched
e-booking service for journalists to reserve tickets o­n concessional passes issued to them. Till now the facility for journalists to book tickets o­n concessional passes was available o­nly o­n the Railway Reservation (PRS) Counters. With this launch, Journalists can book tickets o­n their concessional passes o­n Indian Railway’s E-ticketing System www.irctc.co.in.
Journalists intending to book tickets On-line have to use their registered ID card number issued by Indian Railways (as is done for PRS counter booking) and follow simple steps to complete the transaction.
Step 1- o­n IRCTC website, select “Book in Special Concession” option & tick
             (Information about the documents that are required to be carried while performing    
              the journey will be displayed).
Step 2 - Plan your Journey
Step 3 - Provide Passenger Details
Step 4 – Make Payment
Step 5 – Directed to Bank Site
Step 6 - Journalist Ticket Confirmation
Step 7 – Take Print of Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS) / Receive SMS
