LINE AND POWER BLOCK DUE TO NEW YARD ARRANGEMENT AT ROYAPURAM – PATTERN OF TRAIN SERVICES ON 15TH AND 16TH APRIL 2017


Line and Power Block have been permitted from 23.05 hrs on 15th April 2017 to 07.00 hrs on 16th April 2017 for the work of new yard arrangement at Royapuram Railway Station including commissioning of new signalling panel at Royapuram as part of 3rd and 4th line between Chennai Beach and Korukkupet. Consequently, the following are the changes in the pattern of Train Services on 15th/16th April 2017.

I. CHANGES ON SATURDAY 15TH APRIL 2017

• Train No.66009 Moore Market Complex - Avadi MEMU leaving Moore Market Complex at 22.45 hrs is fully cancelled on Saturday 15th April 2017.

• Train No.43663 Velachery - Avadi EMU leaving Velachery at 22.30 hrs will be partially cancelled between Chennai Beach and Avadi and will be terminated at Chennai Beach at 23.15 hrs on 15th April 2017.

• Train No 42608 Gummidipoondi - Chennai Beach scheduled to leave Gummidipoondi at 21.40 hrs will be diverted to run from Korukkupet to Avadi instead of Chennai Beach.

• Train No.06010 Puducherry - Santragachi Special Train, leaving Chennai Egmore at 23.35 hrs on 15th April 2017 will be dealt on wrong line between Chennai Beach and Royapuram and will reach Gudur late by 45 minutes.

• Train No.17652 Kacheguda - Chengalpattu Express and Train No.17644 Kakinada - Chengalpattu Circar Express will be delayed enroute to arrive Chengalpattu 30 minutes late on 16th April 2017.

• Train No.12164 Chennai Egmore - Dadar Express leaving Chennai Egmore at 06.50 hrs on 16th April 2017 will be diverted to run via Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram and Arakkonam and will be delayed enroute to reach Renigunta at 12.25 hrs or 180 minutes late on 16th April 2017.

• Train No.11017 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus - Karaikkal Weekly Express will be regulated enroute at Perambur for 45 minutes and will reach Villupuram 45 minutes late on 16th April 2017.

• Train No.12651 Madurai - Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Bi-Weekly Express leaving Madurai on 16th April 2017 will be regulated/delayed enroute to reach Gudur late by 135 minutes

THANE - KALYAN DN SLOW LINE FROM 11.20 AM TO 4.20 PM


Dn Slow/Semi fast line services leaving Mulund station from 10.48 am to 4.23 pm will be diverted o­n Dn fast line between Mulund and Kalyan stations halting at Thane, Diva and Dombivli stations and will arrive destination 10 minutes behind schedule.

Dn slow locals will not available at Kalva, Mumbra, Kopar and Thakurli stations. Passengers of these stations are allowed to travel via Kalyan, Dombivali and Diva stations

Down fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 10.20 am to 2.42 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

Up fast trains leaving Kalyan from 11.00 am to 3.08 pm will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup , Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule beyond.

All Dn and Up slow locals leaving / arriving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm will arrive destination 10 minutes behind schedule.

CSTM - CHUNABHATTI / MAHIM DN HARBOUR LINE FROM 11.40 AM TO 4.40 PM

CHUNABHATTI / MAHIM – CSTM UP HARBOUR LINE FROM 11.10 AM TO 4.10 PM

All Dn Harbour line services to Vashi / Belapur /Panvel leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 11.21 am to 4.39 pm and Dn Harbour line services to Bandra / Andheri leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 10.38 am to 4.43 pm will remain suspended.

All Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.52 am to 3.26 pm and Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai leaving Bandra / Andheri from 10.44 am to 4.13 pm will remain suspended.

However, Special services will be run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No.8) during the block period.

Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.

REGULATION OF SER TRAIN SERVICES DUE TO TRAFFIC-CUM-POWER BLOCK FOR LAUNCHING OF LIMITED HEIGHT SUBWAYS IN CHAKRADHARPUR DIVISION o­n 15.04.17


For launching of two Limited Height Subways between Rajkharswan- Barabamboo and Barabamboo-Chakradharpur in lieu of Level Crossing Nos. 166 & 167, Traffic-cum-Power Block will be imposed o­n Up & Dn line for 6 hrs 30 minutes (12.30 hrs-19.00 hrs) o­n 15.4.17 (Saturday). As a result, the following trains will be regulated:-

Short Termination/Short Origination of Trains o­n 15.04.17

·12871 Up Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express will be short terminated at Tatanagar and will run back as 12872 Dn from Tatanagar to Howrah. Similarly, 12872 Dn Titlagarh-Howrah Ispat Express originating from Titlagarh will be short terminated at Chakradharpur and will run back as 12871 Up from Chakradharpur to Titlagarh. Hence, the service of 12871/12872 will remain cancelled between Tatanagar-Chakradharpur- Tatanagar.

Rescheduling of Trains o­n 15.04.17

·18189 Tatanagar-Rourkela-Alappuzha Express will be rescheduled to leave Tatanagar at 18.20 hrs. instead of 15.30 hrs o­n 15.04.17. Consequently, 13351 Dhanbad-Alappuzha Express leaving Dhanbad o­n 15.04.2017 will be rescheduled to leave Dhanbad suitably.

·58012 Chakradharpur-Howrah Passenger will be rescheduled to leave Chakradharpur at 19.20 hrs. instead of 17.00 hrson 15.04.17.

WR'S JUMBO BLOCK BETWEEN BORIVALI AND ANDHERI ON SUNDAY, 16th APRIL, 2017


A jumbo block will be taken from 10.35 hrs to 15.35 hrs o­n Up & Dn slow lines o­n Sunday, 16th April, 2017 between Borivali and Andheri stations for maintenance of track, signaling and overhead equipments. During the block all Up & Dn slow line trains will run o­n Up & Dn fast lines between Borivali and Andheri stations.


Due to the block, some Up & Dn suburban trains will remain cancelled. During the block , trains will not halt at Ram Mandir station in Up & Dn directions for want of platform. No trains will be dealt from PF No.1/2/7 & 8 at Borivali station during this period.

Railway has decided to introduce Train No. 16575/16576, Yesvantpur-Mangaluru Junction -Yesvantpur Tri-Weekly Express.

The inaugural special will be flagged off by Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways, o­n 09th April, 2017 at 11:30 hrs. from Madgoan through video conference and the inaugural special train No. 06576 will depart from Mangaluru Junction at 11:30 Hrs. and will run o­n open timings.

WITHDRAWAL OF IMPLEMENTATION OF AADHAAR BASED TICKETING SYSTEM FOR PRS TICKETS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

 Ministry of Railways has decided to withdraw the implementation of Aadhaar based ticketing system for PRS tickets (both counter and e-tickets) for senior citizen. Even from 1st April, 2017 o­nwards, the concession to senior citizens shall not be denied o­nly for the reason that the person does not possess Aadhaar card. However, they are required to carry some documentary proof showing their age or date of birth and have to produce it if demanded by o­n-board ticket checking staff. Now senior citizens can book reserved tickets across the reservation counters as well as through internet without aadhaar card.

Earlier, Ministry of Railways has decided to make aadhaar based verification mandatory for getting concessional tickets for senior citizen w.e.f 1st April, 2017 and during journey senior citizen passengers has to carry any of the original documents including Aadhaar Card as notified from time to time for the purpose of identity proof. But, now the implementation of aadhaar based ticketing system has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

TRIAL RUN OF NEW TRAIN BETWEEN KHULNA & KOLKATA FLAGGED OFF


Shri Narendra Damodar Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and Smt. Sheikh Hasina, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh jointly flagged off the trial run of Khulna-Kolkata train from Benapole through video link from New Delhi today (8.4.2017).

The train was received in Indian border at Petrapole by Eastern Railway’s Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah..

Shri S. N. Agrawal, General Manager, Eastern & South Eastern Railways, Shri Satish Kumar, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway, Shri Basudev Panda, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah and other dignitaries received the train and high-officials of Bangladesh at Kolkata station.

Speaking o­n the occasion Shri Agrawal said that though there was an international border between the two countries (i.e. India and Bangladesh), the cultural and social bonding between the Bengalees as a whole lying o­n either side of the border is still warn as it used to be 70 years back.In view of this, the government of both the countries decided to run Maitree Express between Kolkata and Dhaka Cantt. since April 2008.

Shri Agrawal further said that after passage of nine years, people of both the countries are demanding more connectivity between the two countries through train route. Considering this, government of both the countries have further decided to run another passenger train between Kolkata and Khulna through Benapole and Petrapole route. It is expected that regular train services between Kolkata and Khulna is expected to be commenced by July 2017.

Shri B. M. Jamal Hossain, counsellor of Bangladesh High Commission at Kolkata , Md. Alamgir Alam, Additional DIG, Bangladesh Police, Mr. Belal Uddin, Chief Operating Superintendant of Bangladesh Railways spoke o­n the occasion. Smt. Nayana Bandopadhaya, Hon’ble MLA, West Bengal Assembly also welcomed the guests of Bangladesh.

Shri Satish Kumar, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway speaking o­n the occasion said that this is a goodwill gesture between the two countries.

It is stated that both Maitree Express and Kolkata-Khulna Passenger trains would not o­nly have fulfilled long cherished aspirations of the people of these two countries, but would also go a long way in improving the bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh. Moreover, about 30 years after the independence of Bangladesh (1971), Indo-Bangladesh rail corridor at Petrapole –Benapole was reopened in January, 2001 for running of goods train o­n regular basis. RESTORATION OF NORMAL TRAIN SERVICES IN HOWRAH-KHARAGPUR SECTION OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY

Due to derailment of four loaded wagons and Guard’s Brake Van of a Goods train at Kharagpur station yard last night, normal train services in Howrah-Kharagpur section of South Eastern Railway were partially affected.

As a result of the derailment, the following Down trains have been short terminated at Santragachi today:-

·58004 Bhadrak-Howrah Passenger

Hon’ble Minister for Railways has inaugurated various services on Konkan Railway in the function held at Panaji

Under the able guidance of Hon’ble Minister for Railways Shri Suresh Prabhu, Konkan Railway took various initiatives for the upliftment of Konkan Region by way of providing more and more passenger amenities as well as customer oriented services for freight users over Konkan Railway which has facilitated in making the journey more comfortable.  Amongst the measures initiated by the Hon’ble Minister includes capacity enhancement of KRCL line, route electrification, construction of additional eleven new stations etc. to name a few.
To boost the development of Konkan region and provide all kind of support to the people of Konkan in general, Hon’ble Minister for Railways has inaugurated following services in the function held today at Panaji (Goa) through remote :

1)   New Halt Station at Saundal between Vilavade – Rajapur Road Station.
Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu inaugurated Saundal Halt Station in Ratnagiri District for the convenience of the residents in and around Saundal area.
Saundal village, Dist. Ratnagiri is between Vilavade (km. 250/718) and Rajapur Road (km 267/349)  stations of Konkan Railway.The  proposed Halt station caters to about 35000 local populace of surrounding villages like Oni, Pachal  Partawale, Solawade, Gotane, Yalawan, Ozar, Tulawade etc. The proposed station, Saundal (km: 260/420) is about 9.7 KM away from Vilavade and 6.9 KM away from  Rajapur Road station. Hon’ble MR conducted Bhoomi Poojan on 16.10.2015 at site. The work of proposed Halt station is completed with a total expenditure of ` 1.22 Crores. Konkan Railway express its sincere thanks to the residents of Saundal for their support & cooperation for timely completion of the work of new station. The location for  the proposed station is on embankment of 28 Mtr height with track  gradient of 1 in 260 in which  49500 CUM of Earthwork in embankment is involved.  Following passenger facilities are provided at Saundal Halt station.:
Rail Level Platform of 460 Mtr X 6 Mtr.
One Ticket booking office.
Modular shelter of size 6 Mtr x 5 Mtr each - 3 nos.
Drinking Water Pedestals – 3 nos.

2)   Goods siding at Thokur Station:
Thokur area is upcoming as an industrial hub.  Mangaluru Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) is being formed with an expectation of setting up of more than 300 + petro chemical factories.  In addition to that, ONGC Mangluru Petro Chemical LTD (OMPL) has already started functioning.  Presently these companies are not provided with proper rail connectivity. The importance of Railway siding at Thokur is quite prominent in this scenario.
Konkan Railway has constructed a 370 Mtr siding at Thokur station at an estimated cost of ` 1.75 Crore for facilitating the projected traffic from Mangalore area.  KRCL is expecting substantial earning from this siding.
Major commodities expected to move from this siding will be Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA), Pet-coke, Sulphur, Bitumen, Fertilizer, etc.
Today,,Hon’ble Minister for Railways has inaugurated this goods siding at Thokur Station.

3) Commissioning of  four India Post  Passenger Reservation System (PRS) at  LANJA, RATNAGIRI, SANGAMESHWAR & KHED.
In order to avoid inconvenience and hardship in reserving train accommodation to passengers of non-rail head location as well as residing in city area situated away from Railway stations, Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu has inaugurated four India Post Passenger Reservation System (PRS). With the opening of these four India Post PRS, total India Post PRS in Ratnagiri region will become seven and over all nine on entire Konkan Railway.
Lanja Post-Office is situated in heart of Lanja City. POST OFFICE PRS Lanja will serve passengers of Lanja Taluk. At present there is no PRS facility anywhere in Lanja Taluk and passengers have to go to Ratnagiri or Kankavali which are 35 & 85 KM away from Lanja. Further, passenger can get reservation of any train which is not possible through present system of Quota Reservation System provided at Adavali and Vilavade station.
Sangameshwar Post-Office : PRS is situated at a prominent location of Sangameshwar town. It is about 500 Mtr away from Sangameshwar bus station and 04 KM from Sangameshwar Railway station. This new PRS will facilitate passengers of Sangameshwar Taluk. At present passengers of Sangameshwar  & Deorukh have to travel a distance of 40 KM either to Ratnagiri or Chiplun which is nearest PRS for booking of train tickets.
Ratnagiri City Post-Office : PRS facility will be operated at Head Post Office. Ratnagiri .This post office is situated in main market of Ratnagiri city & located 8.5 KM away from Ratnagiri Railway station. This will facilitate resident of Ratnagiri city and Taluk. This PRS will fulfill a long pending demand of Ratnagiri to setup City Booking Office  in Ratnagiri city. It will also facilitate  passengers to book ticket of any train which is not possible through town booking agencies situated in Ratnagiri city
Khed Post Office is located in the heart of Khed city. It is 2.5 KM away from Khed Railway station. This post office PRS will facilitate passengers of Khed city and as well as rural area of Khed Taluk.


4)   Integrated - Control Office Application (COA) system
Hon'ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu has inaugurated IT enabled train operation system called Control Office Application (COA) on KRCL.
The Control Office Application (COA) of Indian Railway has been implemented in KRCL in a unique model by seamless integration with the existing Operations and Train Control Module (OT) of KRCL where Train timings captured at Stations are updated on a real-time basis and Controllers can monitor and manage the running of trains. By implementation of COA in KRCL,  the final route of Train movement has been mapped in the COA application of Indian Railway, so that a holistic view of the entire movement of trains in Indian Railway and its statistics generation is achieved.
It is this application that feeds the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) which provides upto date information on train running to the passengers. COA also links train operations information to Freight Operations Information System (FOIS) and Integrated Coaching Management System (ICMS) of Indian Railway.

5) Signing of Facility Agreement for Rs 1200 crore Rupee Term Loan among SBI, EXIM Bank with KRCL for Roha-Veer track Doubling and Route Electrification projects"
Route Electrification of Konkan Railway & Doubling of Roha-Veer section are two projects sanctioned by the Government of India. KRCL has begun execution of these projects which will now cost  ` 1510 crore including financing charges.

Ministry of Railways has sanctioned an amount of `  310 crore in the Budget 2017-18 for these projects. KRCL has made arrangements for the balance fund of ` 1200 crore through a Rupee Term Loan Facility from a consortium of lenders consisting of State Bank of India and EXIM Bank. The infrastructure project is funded on a 20-year structured loan pattern. M/s SBI caps was the advisors for KRCL for the loan arrangement. The fund from this facility would be availed from April ‘2017 onwards with the signing of the loan agreement.
