The Special Train (08404) leaving Santragachi every Saturday at 19:10 hrs will reach Puri at 04:00 hrs the next day. In the opposite direction, the Special Train (08403) will leave Puri every Fridayat 21:25 hrs and will arrive Santragachi at 06:45 hrs the next day.

The Special train will have o­ne AC-2 Tier, three AC 3 Tier, ten Sleeper Class and four General Second Class coaches. The train will have stoppages at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road between Santragachi and Puri.

Due to Line Block to facilitate engineering works at Korukkupet yard, changes will be made in the pattern of train services on 19th June, 2017 as explained below.

A.Partial cancellation of suburban train services o­n 19.06.2017:
1.Train No.42002 Gummidipundi – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Gummidipundi at 02.45 hrs., will be partially cancelled between Tiruvotriyur – MMC.The train will run from Gummidipundi to Tiruvotriyur o­nly.
2.Train No.42004 Gummidipundi – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Gummidipundi at 04.00 hrs., will be partially cancelled between Tiruvotriyur – MMC.The train will run from Gummidipundi to Tiruvotriyur o­nly.
3.Train No.42401 MMC – Sulurpeta EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 04.20 hrs., will be partially cancelled between MMC – Tiruvotriyur.The train will run from Tiruvotriyur to Sulurpeta o­nly.
4.Train No.42403 MMC – Sulurpeta EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 05.00 hrs., will be partially cancelled between MMC – Tiruvotriyur.The train will run from Tiruvotriyur to Sulurpeta o­nly.

C.Diversion of suburban train services:
1.Train No.42422 Sulurpeta – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Sulurpeta at 21.40 hrs. on 18.06.2017, will be diverted to Villivakkam and then will reach MMC.
2.Train No.42001 MMC – Gummidipundi EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 00.15 hrs. on 19.06.2017, will be diverted via Villivakkam, Vyasarpadi and Korukkupet.

D.Diversion of express train services o­n 19.06.2017:
1.Train No.13351 Dhanbad – Alappuzha express train, scheduled to reach / leave Chennai Central o­n 19.06.2017, will be diverted to Chennai Egmore via Chennai Beach.The train will reach / leave from Chennai Egmore instead of Chennai Central.The train will not touch Chennai Central o­n 19.06.2017.
2.Train No.12839 Howrah – Chennai Central Mail, scheduled to reach Chennai Central o­n 19.06.2017, will be diverted to Chennai Beach.

WR'S JUMBO BLOCK BETWEEN BORIVALI AND NAIGAON STATIONS ON SUNDAY, 18TH JUNE, 2017

A four hours jumbo block will be taken from 11:00 hrs to 15:00  hrs o­n Sunday, 18th June, 2017 o­n Up & Dn slow  lines between Borivali and Naigaon  stations for maintenance of track, signaling and overhead equipments. During the block all Up trains will run o­n Up fast line Ex- Virar/Vasai Road to Borivali/Goregaon and all down trains will run o­n down fast line Ex-Goregaon/Borivali to Vasai Road/Virar.

Due to this, some Up & Dn suburban trains will remain cancelled. The list of cancellation will be available with o­n duty Station Masters in suburban section. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.

Train No. 19049/19050 Bandra Terminus – Patna Weekly Express & Train No. 22965/66 Bandra Terminus – Bhagat ki Koti Weekly Express were being run with LHB coaches from 17.04.2017 to 30.06.2017 o­n temporary basis. Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu to flag off Gandhi Darshan Special Tourist Train on 17-06-2017

In order to commemorate the centenary celebration of Sabarmati Ashram associated with the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Ministry of Railways has decided to run Gandhi Darshan Special Tourist Train covering all the important tourist places under Gandhian Circuit. The train will be operated by its PSU IRCTC. Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu will flag off this train through video conferencing from Bandra, the train will start its journey from Sabarmati on 17-06-2017 (Saturday), the centenary day of Sabarmati Ashram. The train will be flagged off in the gracious presence of Shri Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister, Gujarat.

This Gandhi Special Tourist train will cover all the important destinations like Wardha, Motihari, Bettiah, Gaya, Varanasi , Allahabad & Surat connected with India’s freedom struggle movement & Mahatma Gandhi. The train will be on a special Tour for 10 days from 17-06-2017 to 26-06-2017.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Railways, inspects new rake of Humsafar class of trains with added features

Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu inspected the new rake of Humsafar Express with additional features today i.e. 14 June 2017 at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. In his Budget Speech of 2016-17, he had announced the introduction of Humsafar Express, as a fully air-conditioned third AC service with an optional service for meals.  The additional features of Humsafar new rake offers:



Single Piece Side Lower Berth (previously 2 piece)
Mobile Charging point for each berth (previously 3 chargers for 8 passengers) including USB charging points.
Reading light for each berth (previously only the lower berths had reading lights)
Convenient upper berth climbing arrangement
Urinal in 2 toilets per coach
Baby Nappy Changing Pad in 2 toilets per coach
Display Monitor Screen for the CCTV installed in the coach.
Dustbins in each bay inside the coach.


In addition to these, all the existing features of Humsafar Express coaches will continue to be available, some of which are listed below:



Aesthetically pleasing colour scheme with anti-graffiti coating and distinctive 3D
numbering on the exterior.

Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu who is visiting Vijayawada tomorrow (15-06-2017), will be flagging off 2 trains of Humsafar Express namely train no.22705/22706 Tirupati - Jammutawi & train no 20889/20890 Howrah- Vijaywada Humsafar train. The remaining Humsafar trains will also be introduced in due course.

It is planned to manufacture 10 Humsafar rakes during the current financial year at Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli and Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. The cost of a Humsafar AC 3 Tier coach Rs.2.58 crores, as compared to Rs.2.39 crores for a normal LHB AC 3 Tier coach.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Railways, launches Mission Retro-Fitment to enhance the passenger experience

To enhance the passengers experience by upgrading existing fleet of coaches with better furnishing, aesthetics & amenities and better safety features with a view to provide a safe and comfortable travel, Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu has launched MISSION RETRO-FITMENT in Rail Bhavan today. Member Traffic, Railway Board, Mohd Jamshed, Member Rolling Stock, Railway Board, Shri Ravindra Gupta, Member Staff, Railway Board, Shri Pradeep Kumar were among those present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu said, “ Mission Retro-Fitment is an ambitious program to upgrade the level of furnishing & amenities in the coaches of Indian Railways. This is one of the largest  retro fitment project in the world as Indian Railways’ 40,000 coaches will be refurbished and retrofitted in the next five years. This Mission Retrofitment is an endeavour to provide better travel experience as the interiors of the coaches would be refurbished & the retrofitment of Center Buffer Coupler with balanced draft gear would add more to safety of the passengers. By 2020, Indian Railways would provide a new travel experience to the passenger over Indian Railways. This mission is challenging as it will be carried out without affecting the traffic operation. On the occasion, MR Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu also released a booklet giving parameters & guidelines on this mega exercise of retrofitment and refurbishment.

●       Board has approved the Retro-fitment of about 32,000 Integral Coach Factory coaches (having a minimum residual life of 10 years), with CBC & Balanced Draft Gear.

●       Sanction under Rolling Stock Programme (RSP) for retrofitment in 16,000 coaches has been obtained vide Pink Book Item No. 1254/17-18.

●       Approximate Cost : Rs.28 lacs per coach.

●       Additional Sanctions under RSP shall be obtained in due course.

●       The work is targeted for completion by 2022-23.

Ministry of Railways has approved for introduction of new trains Vijayawada - Howrah-Vijayawada Humsafar Superfast Express (Weekly); Tirupati – JammuTawi - Tirupati Superfast Express (Weekly) & Kadapa – Pendlimarri - Kadapa DEMU with effect from 15th June, 2017. Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh; Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways and several other public representatives will flag off the new Train services at a function to be held at Vijayawada and simultaneously at Tirupati & Kadapa stations (via Video Remote Link).

I. Vijayawada – Howrah Superfast Humsafar Express:-

The Inaugural Service:-

Train No. 00890 Vijayawada – Howrah Superfast Humsafar Express will depart Vijayawada at 12:30 hrs on 15th June, 2017 and arrive Howrah at 08.15 hrs the next day.

This Inaugural Special train will arrive / depart Rajahmundry at 15.00 /15.02 hrs; Visakhapatnam at 18.45/19.05 hrs; Vizianagram at 20.05/20.10 hrs; Bhubaneswar at 01.40/01.45 hrs; Cuttack at 02.15/02.20 hrs and Kharagpur at 06.20/06.25 hrs. This train consists of 19 coaches viz., sixteen AC III Tier Coaches, one Pantry Car and two Generator Power Car Coaches.

Regular Service of Train No. 20890 / 20889 Vijayawada-Howrah-Vijayawada Superfast Humsafar Express (Weekly):-

Accordingly, Train No. 20890 Vijayawada – Howrah Superfast Humsafar Express will depart Vijayawada at 23:05 hrs on Sundays and arrive Howrah at 18.30 hrs the next day i.e., Mondays. Ex. Vijayawada (W.e.f) 18th June, 2017 (Sunday).
